Pollack Architecture

POLLACK architecture: interior architects, interior design:
Pollack Architecture, a prestigious firm located in the heart of San Francisco is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. It was founded in August of 1985 by Richard Pollack, concentrates on interior design and during my short visit, it made me want to work there. The work space is incredibly open, you won’t find any cubicles or walls that restrain the creative workflow. Employees at Pollack are encouraged to ask questions, communicate and learn from each other.
In addition the facility includes a library of materials that are used in the designs. Different carpets, tiles and leather are stacked in folder in multiple rows of shelves. The portfolio of Pollack is not only very impressive but was also very inspiring to me. Every major of our interior design program with an open mind and the will to improve and learn new things should put Pollack definitely on their list of companies to look into.

Interview Tips:
- Assume the people who read your application and resume are very busy: don’t write long cover letters, nobody has time to read them. Get right to the point.
- Show respect towards the people you interview with. Not just by using appropriate language but also by presenting yourself in the right manner. Prepare yourself by researching the company you are applying for. It makes a huge difference if you know the history of the company briefly and can ask a question about something you saw on the company’s website.
- It always helps if you have an opinion and you can express it. Talk about things you see at the facility or some of the work you’ve seen. It doesn’t matter if you absolutely love it or you believe you would have done it differently. An opinion shows that you’re involved and able to express yourself, whether you agree or disagree.
